چکیده

An ion-exchange resin containing carboxylic acid groups was prepared by reaction of epoxidized soybean oil with triethylene tetramine, followed by hydrolysis of glycerides by using sodium hydroxide solution. The cation exchange capacity of the resins was determined to be 3.50 mequiv/g. The adsorption capacity for Cu , Ni , and Co on the obtained resin at pH 5.0 was found to be 192, 96, and 78 mg/g, respectively. Effect of pH on the adsorption capacity for copper (II), nickel (II), and cobalt (II) ions were also studied. Cu , Ni , and Co were adsorbed at a pH above 3. These metal ions adsorbed on the resin are easily eluted by using 1N HCl solution. The selectivity of the resin for Cu from mixtures containing Cu /Co /Ni ions in the presence of sodium chloride was also investigated. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Appl Polym Sci 84:

Synthesized some copolymer derivative of poly (Styrene –alternative- Maleic Anhydride) (SMA) for removal Cobalt (II) ions from aqueous solutions and determination residual cobalt (II) ions by using spectrophotometric method

Chelating resins have been considered to be suitable materials for the recovery of heavy metals in water treatments. A chelating resin based on modified poly(styrene-alt-maleic anhydride) with Melamine was synthesized. This modified resin was further reacted with 1,2-diaminoethan in the presence of ultrasonic irradiation for the preparation of a tridimensional chelating resin on the nanoscale f...

Removal of Heavy Metal Particles by LTJ, ANA, SVR, BEC and MER zeolites particles: A Molecular Dynamics Simulation Study

In present study, molecular dynamics simulation of Cadmium (II), Lead (II) and Copper (II) removal from aqueous electrolyte solutions using the ion-exchange process with the zeolite particles was done. The results showed that, most of the particles had the highest affinity of ion exchanging with Lead (II) and the lowest affinity with Copper (II). The calculated mean ion-exchange ratios showed t...

Response Surface Methodology Optimization of Cobalt (II) and Lead (II) Removal from Aqueous Solution Using MWCNT-Fe3O4 Nanocomposite

The present investigation describes the evaluation of feasibility of MWCNT-Fe3O4 nanocomposite toward adsorptive removal of Co(II) and Pb(II) from aqueous solution in batch mode. The Fe3O4–MWCNT hybrid was prepared using a simple one-pot strategy via in situ growth of Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles onto the surface of the MWCNT...

The Preconcentration and Determination of Pb2+, Cu2+, Co2+, Ni2+, Fe2+ and Zn2+ Elements in Water Samples Using Citrate Form of Anion-Exchange Resin

Lead, copper, cobalt, nickel, iron and zinc ions form monocitrate complexes (negative charge) in citrate solution which is absorbed on the citrate form of anion-exchange resins (citrate as counter ion) y exchange of citrate ion with citrate complexes. These are subsequently recovered from the resin by 0.5M ammonium citrate eluent at pH 2.0. Under optimized conditions, quantitative recovery ...

Synthesis and application of chelating resins based on polyacrylonitrilediethylenetriamine for metal ions removal

Chelating resins based on polyacrylonitrile and diethylenetriamine (PAN-DTA) wereprepared through the simple reaction of polyacrylonitrile with various volume percents ofdiethylenetriamine (DTA), (25, 50, 75 and 100). The prepared resins were applied to removeheavy metal ions such as Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II) from aqueous solutions. The sorptionbehaviors of the resins for these metal ions were ...
